Gustaf Granath, Ph.D.
Nitrogen addition experiment, Degerö Stormyr, Sweden

I am a ecosystem ecologist with peatlands as my main study system. My research stretches from investigating ecophysiological processes in plants to understanding the complexities of ecosystems and the role of biodiversity. I have a keen interest in studying ecosystem change and resilience, mostly in the context of human disturbances like nitrogen deposition, drainage etc.

In my work, I try to understand the mechanisms behind ecosystem change and the role of small scale processes for ecosystem function and resilience. I believe that connecting experimental work with observations in nature and ecological models is key in our work to understand
the biosphere.
